BlueHost has been providing hosting services since 1996 and pecializes in customer satisfaction. They host over 60,000 domains.

Basic Package

BlueHost wins our 2006 Runner Up award, second only to IPOWERWEB. They offer a similar hosting package to IPOWERWEB, but for a buck less ($6.95 a month). This gets you 10G of disk space and 250G of bandwith. Like IPOWERWEB, you get one free domain with hosting for six domains and 20 sub-domains.

There is an e-commerce shopping cart and webmail as well. BlueHost supports CGI BIN, Perl, PHP, and Microsoft FrontPage. You can have up to 50 MySQL databases.

Like IPOWERWEB, Blue has both online and telephone technical support. We liked IPOWERWEB's online tutorials and extensive FAQs better than BlueHost's, which are somewhat limited. BlueHost offers an online knowledgebase and email and telephone customer support. Phone support is available Monday through Friday, with somewhat shorter hours on Saturday. There is no Sunday phone support.

Although BlueHost has a solid offering, they do not have a formal guarantee like IPOWERWEB's.
